Shawn Freitas Born as Albert Mercelene Freitas is the Current Co-Vocalist of Thrash/Death Metal Band of "Arquebus" and "Explosives",,,,,,,,,Shawn is said to be not a huge music fan until he saw his friend and later Bandmate Berino Perform Live,,,,,within 2 years of startin in the Field,,,Shawn is said to have become a major force in the metal scene due to his varaition in vocal abilities,,,,,He has said to be a huge fan of the Finnish Rock Band "poets of the Fall" but says he is a Major Follower of "Megadeth" Frontman Dave Mustaine...
Starting out in a light music band "Explosives" with which Shawn says he even performs today due to his respect for the band's Leader Jude,who Shawn says "Is a major factor of what i'm today",,,Shawn Freitas formed his first Line-Up known as "Antidote", a heavy Metal Band,,,,,though the band enjoyed initial success together especially at a fest known as "spandan" catapulting their fame in the city,,,,Tensions are said to be arisen in the band Between the bass guitarist and Shawn freitas on the sharing of vocal duties and other undisclosed issues,,,,,,this move later backfired on the band to a large extent which according to Shawn,,,"Just took out all the hard work i did by taking this band to the top League",,,,,,and during the final days of the band before a chaotic Split,,,Shawn Describes that during the Jam sessions,,he rarely spoke to any of the guitarists other than the Wilfred [Keyboards] and Prithvi [Drummer] and often just faked a smile to others during jamming sessions and gigs.....on 26th januray,2010 during a concert for "Freedon Jam" The music of the band detoriated so much that Shawn Virtually stopped singing for a song and after the gig was rumuored to stormed away from the Stage..and associated full time to the offer made by Berino laban on a new Band,,,Shawn also states berino as one of his major influences who inspired him to sing
In "Arquebus" as 1 of the Co-Vocalists,,,Shawn is said to have a made a mark on alarger scale than with his previous band and has declared that "This is the best line up i can ask to work with",, it is said that during their debut gig,,,Shawn covered Megadeth's "Tornado of Souls" in a voice modulation resembling that of Mustaine's..and he also covers Death Metal songs for the band.. Recently,,seems Shawn has told his bandmates at "arquebus" not to hire a Rhythm Guitarist as he is interested in filling that spot in the near future.
Shawn is known for his different voice modulations invloving high death shrieks to going on a melodic note the next instant,,,this he describes as somthing which he became mad to master after he listened to the Swedish Death Metal band "Opeth" and is also known for his powerful onstage performances involving regular headbanging,..Etc and he himself agrees to this as "The first videos i saw of people performing live were of Axl Rose,,Bruce Dickinson,,Randy Blythe,,,,,so u can obviously expect these things when i'm onstage cause for me,,,,being a vocalist is not just singing the songs rite but also making the crowd go nuts"....He sites his bandmate Berino,,Dave Mustaine,,Axl rose,,Mikael Akerfelt as his biggest influences in music....
Health Issues:
Shawn has stated that though he got used to it now,,,,he suffered initially when and according to him the most scariest moment was when he Vomited blood at his residence trying to growl,,,,,apart from that Shawn suffers from "Hepatitis-B" which he contracted when tried to donate blood with his frend resulting in both of them getting the disease...........when asked about this,He just says,,"Big deal who wants to live more than 60 anyway?"
Aftermath:
Shawn is considered to be an influence for many in the music scenario influencing them and one of his favourites is said to be in Bokaro a metal band called "Yuva" and the frontman "Abba" as he is called by his band and when asked about this Shawn says "When i started out,i didnt know what i was gonna do,,and people just said i was no good,,but today when the band's frontman sayd he got inspired by me,i can say i'm heading in the right direction and this feeling of being like a Mentor is the best feeling i had since i lost a special 1"
